Color interaction in CIE u*v* space

چکیده

Abstract The perceived color interactions between geometrical objects presented on a computer screen were investigated. Colors of small patches with a colored background were used. Six observation colors and three interaction colors for each observed color were presented to ten observers, who performed a matching task. The object with a color assumed to interact with its background was compared to the color of a reference object presented against three monochrome backgrounds. The color of the reference object was adjusted by the observer to match the color of the observation object. Interaction effects with different magnitudes were found for the interaction background colors yellow and cyan. The effects found using the three different reference backgrounds were similar. The result of this study is presented as color interaction diagrams in the CIE u*v* color space.
